Phone interview with a Mechanic

Today, we have decided to ring several contacts in order to help us map out our script so we know what specific order of events the News Report would form:

We were in contact with a local engineer named Ian at a garage in Basildon. However, we were unable to reach Ian so we went looking elsewhere.
We instead found somebody at a car dealership in Monmothshire named Boe Harper who was happy to answer any questions we had.

Here are the questioned we decided to ask him (plus his answers):

-Is it harder to maintain an Electric Car?
Health and safety? Physically, No.

-Is it cheaper to MOT?
Theoretically, the only difference would be the lack of an emissions test. Otherwise, it is the same.

-Do you find many issues with electric cars or are they genuinely more reliable?
None really, except for Health and safety issue- Electric batteries are high voltage etc.

-Would you personally own an electric car over a petrol car right now and, if so, why?
No, there are still a few issues to think about- Battery life is still too low. Development needs to go a bit further than it is at this point. Long journeys might be a problem due to the lack of charging ports. Long charging times.

-Would electric cars be cheaper to run?
Depends on prices of charging ports and how much electricity is needed.

These answers would indicate that there isn't too much incentive to convert to electric cars at this time according to his opinions. Meaning that the current state of the electric car industry does not possess any clear advantages at this time.
