Feedback Update

Our latest feedback update detailed on how much research has been done over the passed few weeks. According to the entire group, we have each made effort to gain an amount of research to contribute to our idea and give the documentary story some weight. Unfortunately, none of us have contacted the people from BBC Introducing, a piece of advice given to us from our first pitch, though I'm not sure who in the group was appointed to doing this. However, another in the group decided during this update that they will try to contact these people straight after the update has finished.

One particular piece of feedback inquired to how we should film the band playing the instruments. We were given the advice to actually book out two cameras if we were allowed to and have one camera stationary while the other is handheld while both record at the same time. For sound quality, the stationary camera would be hooked up to one of the speakers to get a direct feed of the band playing their instruments so we don't have desynchronised sound or that it is not too loud.

I feel that this is a great idea as we will be able to have clear sound, synchronised video (through careful editing) and a more professional-looking documentary overall.

Thankfully we were able to book out two cameras as there were no other shoots scheduled at this time. However, we need to make sure that we have a good idea on the type of equipment that is being used when dealing with the sound. A person in the group that is familiar with the Attic shooting location appears sure that they have the necessary equipment and thus ill have to take his word for it, though I would recommend that we take extra sound equipment with us just in case.

For added preparation for our interviews with the Attic manager and staff, we have created a group chat on Facebook where we can discuss and throw as many questions in as possible which we can use for the interviews ad thus pick out the suitable questions for the actual shoot.

One worry that I have leading up to this shoot is the fact that I believe that we are sooting perhaps a little too early at this time in the project. It is ver understandable why we are due to the fact that the band are only playing at the Attic on the night of the 7th April but i feel that we have given ourselves less time to properly think out and plan/ develop how we are going to do the shoot. Thus we really need to work hard to make sure that we have the right amount of development and work in this shorter amount of time. Thankfully there is a small gap of time before we shoot at our next few locations so we will have more time to prepare for those then.
